Alex's Boat

  This was a pretty exciting design job. She was commissioned by a German guy who's First Officer on a Med based "Mega Yacht," and will be used for adventure charters and general exploring. I guess this makes her one of them new Exploration Yachts we see in the magazines?
Alex hasn't decided on the interior yet but his current thoughts are sketched out below. She's planned out for 3 couples including the owner, and is probably noticeable for a boat this size in the amount of open space, "Elbow Room," she has. Note the big for deck and the old fashioned cargo hoist boom. And aft of the owner's cabin is a dive room, where all her scuba gear is stored. There's a WT access hatch to the dive room from the owner's cabin giving an emergency exit should it be needed.
She carries over 6,000 gallons of fuel so has the range to go wherever Alex wants if he keeps the speed down under 9 knots.
When construction starts I'll be posting a lot of photos!

The Lines of this ship are pretty gracefull, if I do say so myself!

 This is the first draft of the interior Alex is considering. She has a huge owner's cabin and two double staterooms for guests. Aft of the owner's stateroom, seperated by a WT bulkhead, is a seperate room for diving equipment.

Simple and strong steel construction featuring 3/8" bottom, 5/16" sides, and 1/4" decks.
